Jason Layne

Jason is the owner of Las Vegas Scuba Academy and Army veteran, with over a decade of

diving expertise. After completing his military service, Jason discovered his passion for diving

and became certified as an Open Water Diver in 2011. He has since progressed through the

ranks, becoming a recreational instructor trainer, technical diving instructor, and earning his

JJCCR Instructor rating.

Jason has made a name for himself as the go-to instructor for deep dives in Lake Mead, where he

regularly explores submerged wrecks and unique historic environments. His military background

instilled in him a disciplined approach to safety and precision, which he brings to every course

he teaches. Jason has certified hundreds of divers, from beginners to advanced technical divers,

and has a deep knowledge of both open-circuit and closed-circuit rebreather diving.

In addition to his work at local dive centers, Jason enjoys giving back to the community through

his involvement with veteran support programs. When he’s not teaching or volunteering, you’ll

find him on deep dives, exploring the lesser-known depths of Lake Mead.
